Real Estate investors are the primary clients of Clark Law Group. Most issues handled by the firm derive from delinquent tax sales throughout the State of Georgia. The firm assists clients in all phases of tax deed investing, from due diligence, acquisition, redemption, barment and quiet title actions. Additionally, the firm represents clients in title defects, fractured titles, estate matters and curative title litigation. The firm's litigation matters focus on quiet titles, declaratory judgments, and partition actions to clear clouds on title to real estate. The firm also has extensive experience in recovering excess tax sale funds.

John C. Clark
John is a graduate of the University of Georgia Terry College of Business and graduated with honors from the University of Georgia School of Law. John's legal practice began at Proctor Hutchins, a boutique real estate litigation firm, where he represented the largest delinquent tax lien and tax deed investment companies in Georgia. In 2009, John was a founder of the firm Clark Caskey, which evolved into Clark Law Group in 2016. John's career has focused on advising real estate investors, and in particular delinquent property tax deed and lien investors, for over fifteen years. John has been lead counsel in hundreds of quiet title actions, which is the core of John's practice. In recognition of this experience, John has been appointed by the Superior Court to serve as a Special Master in complex real estate litigation. In addition to his trial court practice, John has made oral arguments numerous times before the Georgia Supreme Court in cases involving delinquent property tax related issues.
Tahra Porterfield
Tahra Porterfield is a graduate of the University of Georgia and Georgia State University College of Law. Since being admitted to the bar, she has focused her career primarily on trial work and civil litigation. Her practice focuses on real estate litigation surrounding tax sales, tax deeds, and curative title matters; and she also advises individuals and companies on a variety of non-litigation legal issues regarding real estate ownership. Tahra has substantial experience in trial work and court room procedure, and in aiding clients to quiet title after purchasing property at county-held tax sales.
Tahra leads the Quiet Title and Real Estate Litigation practice. She is a well-respected practitioner regarding Georgia's civil procedure and property laws, and has represented numerous clients engaged in the large-scale purchase of property tax liens and tax foreclosure deeds. Tahra is a member of the State Bar of Georgia Real Estate Section and particularly enjoys litigating on behalf of tax deed purchasers, having handled hundreds of quiet title actions in the superior courts across the state. Additionally, Tahra has extensive experience in the appellate courts, and has authored many successful appellate briefs over the years.
Prior to joining the firm, Tahra worked as a criminal trial attorney for several years before taking the position as Staff Attorney in the State Court of Cobb County. As a Staff Attorney, Tahra gained invaluable courtroom experience and connections with the Metro-Atlanta legal community.
